Current Status (4/1/12):

Space: this is my apartment living room, facing north, so there's not much direct light. It's pretty cluttered, nothing was planned. There's 4 little planted areas in the room:

1. Aquarium/Riparium Window Corner
I have a dedicated thread for the aquarium area growing under a cheap grow light. On the ground is an almond and an avocado tree (from seeds). On the 3 IKEA tables is the 20g tank, assorted foliage plants, orchids, gardenia, and 4 pepper plants in the back. Also recently added some spanish moss to hang on the light rack.

My cat likes to use this area as his salad bar, note the chew marks on the avocado leaves.

2. Aquarium by TV
Another dedicated thread for this little 9.2g tank with a moss tree scape.

Old pic, currently undergoing some green water.

3. Desk & PC
A small rose bush (just finished flowering). Also some sort of a vine out of a "Love Pod" has taken over my desk.

Wish I took a pic when the vine and roses were flowering :/

4. Aerogarden
This is my indoor herb/nursery area. I put small planters/seedlings next to the grow light. Easy access when I'm cooking. There's also a tiny 0.5g "aquarium" with its own thread.

Very clustered, trying to grow out 4 Indian peppers a friend gave me.

How did you get the vine to crawl on the lamp?

It just grew itself in that direction, I gave it a little help and rewrapped it behind the monitor. It's a plant from the Love Pod, not sure what it is. The Pod's really gimmicky but this vine is very hardy.

The vine had to go, whatever it was. It was leaking sticky sap all over the desk as it began to flower. The flower never fully bloomed, just began to, then withered, not enough light.

It got pretty long just from being in that tiny bowl
